For the first time in 20 years, the traditional candidates debate will not kick off the ComFish Trade Show and Policy Forum in Kodiak.
The fisheries debate is rescheduled for May 28 during the Kodiak Crab Festival due to the final days of the Alaska legislative session taking place in April.
The rescheduling allows several of the gubernatorial candidates, including Gov. Parnell, to attend.
The two-hour debate has attracted 100 percent participation by candidates for Alaska governor and U.S. Congress. The debate is broadcast live to more than 330 communities via host station KMXT and the Alaska Public Radio Network.
Media panelists ask questions on a single topic: Alaska’s seafood industry.
For more information about the debate, Crab Festival or ComFish Trade Show and Policy Forum in mid-April, contact the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce, (907) 486-5557.
