Alumni update: Miles Dunbar wins CCAA steeplechase title
Miles Dunbar continued his winning ways in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday. The Chico State University senior won the steeplechase at the California Collegiate Athletic Association Track and Field Championships in Los Angeles. Alcaide wins 4 events at middle school meet
Billy Alcaide walked away as a four-time winner at the PJMS Varsity Track Meet Tuesday at Palmer. Alcaide, an eighth-grader at Kodiak Middle School, won the 100 meters, 200 meters and the long jump, and was a member of the winning 400 relay. The Kodiak Kingfishers concluded their season over the weekend by collecting several top awards at the Alaska Junior Olympics. Talon Lindquist was voted the state’s male swimmer of the year, while his father John took home the age group coach of the year award. The ice at the Baranof rink is long gone, but that doesn’t mean Kodiak’s traveling women’s hockey team is hanging up their skates. Kodiak track set for 3 days of meets

University of Oregon’s Trevor Dunbar clocked a blazing time in the 1,500-meter run at the Oregon Relays Friday at Hayward Field.
