KODIAK ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION, INC. (KEA) is seeking to fill the position of Maintenance Operator/Electrician for the Terror Lake Hydroelectric Project. Must have a current State of Alaska Certificate of Fitness as a Journeyman Electrician. This full-time position is responsible for servicing, repairing, maintaining and operating equipment at and around the Terror Lake Hydroelectric plant and associated equipment, and remote generators and equipment including but not limited to the portal site, gatehouse site, outlet works, tunnel, dam, and 17 miles of road. This includes hydroelectric turbine generators and associated equipment, and remote generators and equipment. Experience with maintaining and operating heavy mechanical equipment used for road maintenance is desired. Must be familiar with and perform such field repairs, tests and adjustments to the SCADA and communications equipment as assigned. The successful applicant will assist in the maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment associated with the power production division and will be required to make appropriate entries in electrical maintenance records as directed. Normal work shift is four 10-hour days Monday through Thursday, with varied overtime as required. This position rotates with other employees for after hours standby duty for trouble callout and emergency manning of equipment. The Terror Lake Project is accessible only by plane or boat from Kodiak. On site housing is provided for employees and family in this remote site location.
