The banks of the Buskin River were lined with young anglers on Saturday, but young Cara Hollingsworth was the big winner.

Hollingsworth pulled in a 6.43-pound pink salmon, tops among the anglers in the annual Kodiak Kiwanis Club pink salmon derby.

Dozens of youngsters between 2 and 15 years old competed for prizes including an XBox 360, Nintendo DS and other toys. Others benefited from the contest as well: If the youngsters and their families decided to not keep their fish, it went to a cooler sent to Kodiak-area Native elders.

In the 2-year-old to 6-year-old category, Drake Anthony was tops with a 6.1-pound fish. Haley Makerny was second with a 6.08-pound pink.

Alex Holland won the 7-year-old to 9-year-old category with a 5.29-pound fish. There was a tie for second place at 4.48 pounds between Isaiah Delacruz and Elijah Calderon.

Luke Pitts won the 10-year-old to 12-year-old category, also with a 5.29-pound catch. Tyler Skonberg was second with a 4.93-pound effort.

In the 13-year-old to 15-year-old category, Roman (last name illegible) won with a 5.81-pound fish. Aaron Rohr was second with a 4.48-pound catch.
