KODIAK — The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has announced a Guideline Harvest Limit of 165,000 eviscerated pounds of sea cucumbers and 65,000 whole pounds of sea urchins for the Kodiak Management District.

The initial 48-hour sea cucumber fishing period opens 12:01 a.m. Oct. 1.

Additional fishing periods will be announced by news release no later than Wednesday of each week.

Sea cucumbers are harvested by divers, who are required to fill out a permit card and a diver registration form, plus return logbooks.
