Your recent story about term limits covered what has been proposed and that the initiative is moving forward.
It may be early yet, but I’d be very interested in knowing how many Alaska communities have term limits for similar elected offices, and what the impact of those term limits have been — positive or negative in the community’s eyes.
It would be nice if the Daily Mirror could inform Kodiak in this regard.
My current viewpoint: Term limits restrict my voting options. They tell me who I can’t vote for.
They are additional rules/constraints, which someone will have to enforce, there will be less continuity in government leadership, and this will all eventually add to the size and cost of local government.
