KODIAK — Commercial salmon fishing will be opened for sections of two Kodiak Island districts beginning at noon today.

The Southwest Afognak Section of the Afognak District and the Central, North Cape, Spiridon Bay and Zachar Bay sections of the Northwest Kodiak District will be open to commercial salmon fishing until 6 p.m. Thursday.

The commercial salmon fishing period in the Inner Ayakulik and Outer Ayakulik sections of the Southwest Kodiak district will also close at 6 p.m. Thursday.

As previously announced by Fish and Game, commercial salmon fishing will close in the Sitkalidak, Outer Ugak and Inner Ugak sections of the Eastside Kodiak District at 9 p.m. today.

Several areas remain open to commercial salmon fishing until further notice:

• The Inner Chiniak, Outer Chiniak and Buskin River sections of the Northeast Kodiak District;

• The Humpy-Deadman Section of the Alitak District; and

• The Two-Headed and Seven Rivers sections of the Eastside Kodiak District.
