Caregiver film

Senior Citizens of Kodiak’s Family Caregiver Support Program is presenting a film called “Nutrition and Meal Preparation for Older Adults” at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Senior Center. If you are caring for someone over the age of 60 or are looking for information, please join us. Refreshments will be available. To register, or for more information, contact Kathy at 486-6181.

Military healthcare

UnitedHealthcare announced Tuesday that it has won the contract to provide health care for members of the military using Tricare in the western U.S. The contract is expected to begin April 1, 2013, and means a switch for active duty, retired and military families. The news comes three weeks after the military announced it will be raising Tricare premiums in response to climbing health care costs.

Library closed

The A. Holmes Johnson Memorial Library will be closed Monday, March 26, in observation of Seward’s Day. For more information please call the Library at 486-8686.
