Talon Lindquist added to his growing list of swimming state records on Saturday at the Kodiak Community Pool.

Lindquist, an eighth-grader at Kodiak Middle School, set the 13- and 14-year-old state records in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 1,650 freestyle during the final Kodiak Kingfishers home meet of the season.

Lindquist clocked a time of 9 minutes, 53.58 seconds in the 1,000, which topped the previous record of 10:05.

His 16:18.81 time in the 1,650 shattered the old record of 16:48.14.

Lindquist now owns nine state records.

The Kingfishers next competition is the Alaska Junior Olympics, April 24-27 in Anchorage.
