Thomet lowers state-leading 800 time

Kodiak’s Levi Thomet lowered his state-leading 800-meter time Thursday in a tri-meet against Bartlett and Anchorage Christian Schools in Anchorage.

The junior won the 800 with a time of 1 minute, 57.9 seconds — two seconds faster than his previous best time that was posted in a home meet on Saturday.

Levi Fried was second with a time of 1:58.0 — the second-best time in the state this season.

Kodiak’s 400 and 1,600 boys relay squads also picked up victories.

Ranie Siscar won the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.3, while Rosie Aquino won the long jump with a mark of 13 feet, 10.75 inches.

Kodiak is at the Palmer Invitational today and Saturday.
