Do you think you have what it takes to pull a fire truck?

You can find out Saturday.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Alaska is organizing a “Pullin’ for Pledges” event Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Safeway parking lot.

Teams of nine will see how fast they can pull a fire truck 12 feet.

Each team must have at least one Special Olympics athlete on it. The team fee is $200, with all proceeds going to Special Olympics.

For more information, contact Paul Salerno at 942-3719 or email Kodiak@specialolympicsalaska.org.

The local Special Olympics summer games begin with powerlifting at 6 p.m. today at the Kodiak Athletic Club.

The Torch Run is May 17.
