The police received a 911 call at 2:19 a.m., and the caller, Johnan Dechance, 22, said Dillon Hildebrand, 29, had stabbed him.
Police responded and found Hildebrand near the public restrooms at the harbor. Hildebrand said the stabbing was in self-defense because Dechance had been assaulting him, according to the report.
“Officer could see several injuries to Hildebrand’s face including a cut across the tip of the nose,” the police report stated.
Dechance was at ramp No. 2 of the harbor and had “extensive bleeding” from multiple stab wounds on his right leg, the report stated.
Both men were taken to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center for treatment.
The police found, upon further investigation, that the stabbing was in self-defense and it was a continuation of an earlier fight between the two men. Police had previously contacted the men when they were fighting in an alley.
The men separated and neither pressed charges.
